Review of BALTIC GOLD by Ric Wharton author of ‘Salvage of the Century’ (Stalin’s Gold)

“I have just finished reading the manuscript and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a very good story based on historical fact, which always makes these novels more interesting.
It’s a fast moving credible story with plenty of action. The technical details are very good. I think that HMS Edinburgh divers would be very embarrassed to read parts of it. The recovery from the severed diving bell vas very good and reminiscent of the famous bell rescue in West Africa that is recounted in my book.
My only technical comment is that my divers found it very tiresome removing the gold and were in zero visibility as soon as they disturbed the sediments so it would have taken a lot longer to remove the gold but I think that that is allowable artistic license for the story.
I think that it is a very good and interesting book and one that I would certainly buy in the bookshops. I wish you the very best and good fortune with it.
Best wishes”

“Fantastic story although devastatingly sad to think of all those people who died that night. The horror of the suffering during the flight from Prussia is just too awful to contemplate in any greater detail than what you convey in the book.”
